Numbers, Small Business, Horses & Real Talk
I’m Sandy — a freelance bookkeeper, small business owner, and lover of all things four-legged.
I help Montana small business owners get their books organized, understand their numbers, and take the stress out of QuickBooks — without judgment, jargon, or making things more complicated than they need to be

My Story (Human & Honest)

I didn't plan on doing this - but it turns out, it's exactly where I'm meant to be
I work with people who are working their tails off — running businesses, managing employees, raising families, chasing goals... and sometimes falling behind on the books because there simply aren't enough hours in the day.
I’m not your stereotypical spreadsheet nerd. I’m a boots-on-the-ground problem solver who understands what it’s like to juggle too much and still try to keep everything afloat. I’ve been through burnout, grief, survival mode and starting over — and somewhere along the way, I learned that bringing order to chaos is actually something I’m pretty damn good at.
After losing my life partner and best friend and rebuilding my life, I realized I wanted to build something of my own that used what I’m good at to genuinely help other people.
That’s how Chaps 2 Cheers became what it is today — bookkeeping for hardworking small business owners who would rather spend their time running their business than fighting with QuickBooks.
I understand small business because I live it. I work in it every day. I know the difference between what looks nice on a spreadsheet and what actually happens when you're trying to make payroll, pay vendors, collect from customers, keep cash moving and still get the actual work done.
So if your books have gotten behind, QuickBooks makes you want to throw your computer out the window, or you simply want someone dependable to take bookkeeping off your plate — that's where I come in.
What I Do Now
Bookkeeping That Works in the Real World
I help small business owners keep their books clean, current, and actually useful — without making accounting more complicated than it needs to be.
From ongoing bookkeeping and QuickBooks cleanup to payroll coordination, invoicing, reconciliations and getting things back on track when the books have gotten away from you, I meet you where you are and help bring order to the chaos.
I especially enjoy working with contractors, trades and other hands-on small businesses because I understand how those businesses actually operate — jobs change, receipts disappear, equipment breaks, customers pay late, and somehow payroll still has to happen Friday. 😏
My goal is simple: take bookkeeping off your plate so you can spend more time running your business

A Few Things You Should Know About Me ...
🐴 I’ve got a cutting horse mare named Lucy and two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Georgie & Dottie. They keep me grounded, keep me moving, and make sure there's never a shortage of hair or barn chores.
📍 I’m based in Helena, Montana, but I work with clients remotely too — from contractors and trades to other hardworking small business owners who have better things to do than spend Sunday afternoon fighting with QuickBooks.
🧾 I’m QuickBooks Certified, but I speak human, not accountant. No shame, no jargon, no making you feel like you should already know something. If your books are a mess, we'll figure them out.
👷 I understand small business from the inside, not just from behind a computer. I've worked hands-on with construction and service businesses — payroll, invoicing, vendors, job costs, collections and all the moving pieces that come with keeping a business running
